Cool data analysis tool for excel
I stumbled unto a new tool that I used for a data | business information consulting that I recently completed and I want to share it with the world.
This tool will add posix based regex capabilities to excel. This is such a huge improvement to excel that you have to scream it from the roof tops. Get the software at http://xcell05.free.fr/morefunc/english/ or download it from the attached file (might be an older version by the time you read this).
Works with excel 2000 - 2007
I may go into detail on how to use the functions in my notes section.
Finished MBA Orientation
I just completed my 1 week orientation and man was that an adventure. I started last saturday and it was a roller coaster of a ride with a trial by fire project of "Should Toyota buy Harly-Davidson?".
To complete the task we had to research into the companies background, culture, and financial history. We had to think outside of the box and find synergies and disconnects between them that would either help or harm the process.
A three year pro-forma predicting the financial picture of the combined company was the crowning achievement of the project.

Back to School for my Executive MBA!

To use Drupal or use Joomla?
I do a lot of development for private customers and a lot of times I choose the Joomla CMS over the Drupal CMS.
This site is based on Drupal, and I love the ease of use that Drupal gives it’s users, but I also find that Joomla is much easier to program on.
Drupal has a great interaction between administration and the front page, but simply trying to create a template is a mission and doesn’t have the ease of programming that Joomla has.
Communication rant
Today I’d like to talk about communication; communications in the workplace,
communication at home, pretty much communication in general. We've all heard
time and time again that communication is the key to a successful <fill in
the blank>, but how do we ensure that proper communication is happening and
not being lost in transition?
